COVID-19 information and guidance

Fraudsters are trying to exploit the Coronavirus outbreak as an opportunity for financial crime by posing as trusted organisations like schools, banks and even the World Health Organisation.

They may pretend to offer medical guidance or a safe haven for your money. They’ll then ask you to make a payment into a safe account, giving personal or financial information.

Typically, these fraudster will get in touch through:

  • Phone calls
  • E-mails
  • Text messages
  • Social media
